Up for sale is a late 1800\'s-to early 1900\'s, American made Joseph Bohmann mandolin.

This is a very well made, strong mandolin, without much work will be a daily playing instrument for the serious player. Bohmann mandolins have a great resonance and tonal quality along with huge volume.

The spruce top has a grain that is evenly, medium spaced, and is in great condition, except the finish at the bottom has been affected by something in the past. This is the only place.

There are not any issues with this mandolin other than the nut needs to be shaped and fit, and the tailpiece, which is not original will need to be fit on, and set up with strings and bridge. All parts are included if you want to use them. The bridge I believe is original, the nut is a very old ivory nut from a hopeless mandolin, but not original to this mandolin. The bone tuning gears appear to work fine, all buttons are turning well. The back and top are all strong without cracks. The neck appears very good also.

The tortoise shell pick guard is solid, as are all of the inlays. This will be a very very good mandolin once set up.
