LARGE REPOUSSE ROAST CARVING SETThis is a wonderful old roast carving set, whether made by Kirk or Stieff, or Kirk Stieff -- I don\'t profess to be an expert at distinguishing that aspect here, especially since the marks have been obliterated one way or another over time. However, anyone who knows their repousse will recognize the real deal when they see it. These have that great old-time repousse work going all the way around the handles (those unseemly seams have been well disguised!). The knife measures 15-1/4\" long, while the fork is 10-1/2\" long. The blade on the knife is \"rustless\" steel -- not original, as can be seen by the reworking at the neck. The fork tines are original, with a small scuff at the back (see 2nd to last photo). But the stars of this show are those silver repousse handles, just gorgeous with the roses and other flowers all a-bloom. Nice deep definition, and in excellent condition.Condition: Overall normal wear on blade and tines. The fork\'s brace is a little loose, but it\'s secure and still functions well when propped up.
