Antique Kroeber #33 Vienna Regulator Clock:
Antique Kroeber #33 Vienna regulator clock Impressive two weight regulator clock marketed by the F. Kroeber Clock Company of New York in the 1880s. They sold a line of German made wall clocks and this is their very scarce model #33. This example is unusual in that it is a time and strike version as most were time only 8 day movements. The clock measures a full 4' tall by 16" wide with a 7" porcelain dial. The back plate of the movement has the "KROEBER" stamp which they applied to their imported Vienna clocks. The 8 day time and strike movement runs properly and it retains the original hands, pierced pulleys, winding crank key, and near perfect dial. One of the pulleys has a repair to the hook that is not noticeable. The top center "crown" is a hand carved duplicate of the original and the back board is hard wood replacement. Both have been very well color blended to the rest of the case and do not detract from the beauty of the clock.
