For your consideration, an absolutely stunning antique hand-painted Antique Japanese Kutani Sei Charger in absolutely mint condition.
The artists mark is clear and clean and dates from the Meiji period, denoting production between 1868 and 1900.
The charger depicts a courtly scene with a Geisha, a Samurai, a Buddhist Monk, a Merchant, a Soldier, and an Aristocrat. Intensely fine detail and fine gold accents - this is the finest Kutani piece we have ever seen. The incredible gold paint on the piece makes their silk robes almost billow in the breeze. The reversogram flair is as intricate and lovely as the front.

The charger measures 9.5” in diameter and is about 1.25” deep at the edge. The condition is flawless and exactly as it left the artists hands over a century ago. No chips, no crazing, no flaking, no paint loss. A museum quality piece for the serious collector.
