Amazing antique French relief gilt copper plaque depicting a Greek or Roman Goddess with putto and fruit, last quarter of the 19th. C., c. 1890.
The plaque has amazing details,from the face of the Goddess and the fruit in her hair, to the robe covering half her body, and the basket of fruit set to her side.
The plaque is signed L.OUDRY PRE EDITEOUR ( left side, underneath the fruit basket)
The copper plaque set in an oval wooden frame, ornate with beautiful rose garlands. The frame has the same gold finish. The color varies with light, please preview pictures for more details.The back of the plaque is covered with a white metal alloy.
The plaque is in excellent condition, with light gilt loss and some scratches on the back.
Dimensions: framed: H 19\", W 15.5\", 1.5\" thick.
