For sale is a LARGE antique PAPIER MACHE HIDE COVERED PUTZ COW figure from Germany c. 1910-1920s. Animal figures were displayed at the holidays as part of putz village or nativity scenes. This cow is a great example of those toy animals. It\'s made of papier (paper) mache covered in brown felt-like fabric material. It has applied glass eyes with painted details for its snout and undercarriage. The cowalso has long curving horns and a nice tail. It stands on sturdy wood legs and remains in excellent condition, measuring 5 1/2\" high by 6\" long.
