Antique Ladies Fan Late 1800\'s Ostrich Feathers Amber Celluloid Sticks Guards
An exquisite antique Ostrich Feather Fan from the late 1800\'s The amber celluloid sticks are 8 1/2\" long. This is a medium sized fan measuring 15\" including the Ostrich feathers which are approximately 9\" long. The fan itself is in fair to poor condition. There are several breaks and bends in the Ostrich feathers. I think they can be reglued and be fully repaired. Please see captions on pictures.
The end of the fan is held together by a celluloid ring and has a braided ivory 13 1/2\" tassel on the end.
I sold another fan from this same estate a few months ago that was from Tiffany\'s at Union Square with it\'s original box Tiffany & Co. Union Square store was their retail location from 1870-1906. And I just sold a hand painted fan from the same collection. Thus from my other research I believe this fan is also from the late 1800\'s. I will be listing one more antique fan in the next few days.
This fan belonged to my husband\'s Grandmother who was from Melrose, Massachusetts.
