This is a lovely ladies watch -- pics don\'t do it justice. It is 14K gold and it runs. The double hunter case is hinged and engraved with a pastoral scene. The edge is scalloped. The lower half of the hunter case has flowers engraved. The upper shows two houses or perhaps a house and a barn. There are trees both in the forefront of the scene and in the background. There are also mountains rising in the far background. There is a place for engraving on the front of the case. It is blank, so you are free to have your own engraving done. The watch has been very gently used. It looks new. I see little wear anywhere, but there is a small scratch on the inside of the back case and a tiny dent on the back case cover, which you don\'t see unless you look at the inside of the back case cover. The stem is at the 3 o\'clock position. This watch was made by Elgin between 1891 and 1895. This particular one was made in 1893. The hunter case is marked B. W. C. Co. and Warranted 14K U. S. Assay. It does have one jewelers mark on the inside of the cuvette. The most I can make out is it starts with McK. I\'ll keep trying to figure out what it says. The watch weights about 62 grams. The starting price takes my best estimate of the melt value of gold into account.
