Would be great to recycle for antique hat trim.
Unique and unusual antique silk moire ribbon art roses and hand embroidery large trim piece salvaged from an antique dress. These ribbon flowers are beautiful. Trim is on old silk chiffon. This is a bold design in 3 repeating sections. Overall measures approx. 22" long x 6" wide. There are 3 large 3-color ribbon art roses, approx. 3-3/8" l., and 3 ribbon art 2-color rosebuds, approx. 1-3/4" l. Ribbon flowers are embellished with a sprinkling of glass beads.
Embroidered with gorgeous antique Arts &Crafts fat silk floss which is always so delicious to look at.
As you can see the silk chiffon is fragile and has been cut very close to the embroidery silk roses and in fact into the embroidery work leaf in middle section.
Flowers appear to be complete unto themselves and handstitched onto silk, so they could be removed for other use.
Extra silk on 1 side is pretty well shot.
A beautiful piece of trim long treasured looking for a good new home.
