The marks of F. Bros L&S 524 show it was made in the late Victorian period. Fenton Brothers Ltd. was in operation from 1875 until 1910 at South Moor Works, East Street, Sheffield. It was set up by John Frederick Fenton and Frank Fenton and after 1896 was known as Fenton Brothers Ltd.
