up for sale is an original, early electric Bergmann sconce, patented in 1884 (please see last image for the patent application drawing). everything is original and present with this one: both brass half washers, one stamped with the April 22, 1884 patent date. also, both original red fiber half washers and screws. original ornate cast-brass backplate in great condition. notice that it\'s footed, allowing the cord to run along the wall--home wiring was mostly external in the beginning. excellent overall condition. if you want to get one of your Bergmann sockets off the shelf and put it where it belongs, here\'s the chance. ***please note that the pic with a Bergmann socket is for display only. this sale is just for the fixture.***
