A beautiful traditional design antique English solid sterling silver sauce boat. It is clearly marked \"Mappin & Webb\" on the bottom; plus it has a full set of English hallmarks on the left side near the handle. The marks are: the M&W in a shield, the anchor mark for the city of Birmingham, the lion mark for sterling silver, and the date mark a small letter q for 1915. It has a classic high scroll handle, with the thumb hold on top and the finger hold on the bottom. The classic applied gadroon decoration encircles the rim.This sauce boat is in near mint condition considering that it is over 100 years old. It is clean, scratch and ding free excepting for one small 1/4\" scratch near the date mark.Size: length 6 1/2\" (16cm); width 3 1/2\" (9cm); height 3\" 8cm.
