Very rare and collectible Marine chronometer marked on the face, Thomas Adams Lombard St. London maker to HRH ( His Royal Highness ) PrinceAlbert in good condition, circa 1860. PrinceAlbert was HRH until June 25 1857 after that he was made Prince consort to Queen Elizabeth to whom he was married, so this piece pre-dates 1857.The box is in poor condition which means it probably hada lot of service. Since the serial number on the clock doesn\'t match the box I don\'t believe the box is original, but that is what it was in when purchased. The movement looks intact and appears not damaged in any way. Since I don\'t have a key I can\'t wind it to see if it runs. Ask questions and I will try to answer them. I believe this is a very rare piece and if it were in a restored box it would be worth more than the asking price. I have only found two others made by Thomas Adams that were marked to HRH Prince Albert and they sold for well over my asking price. The box itself may be needed by a collector who has the original chronometer it is paired with and depending on its history may make the box quite valuable to a collector since the box is tagged with what I believe is an ivory inset with the number 2121. offer what you will or offer nothing at all.
