This is a beautiful, high quality of craftsmanship, antique brass wall hanging/figurine. I\'m not sure what it\'s original purpose was, but the etching and tool work is extremely detailed. It starts with the shaped face that I believe is a woman. It has tiny tool marks around the eyes, eyebrows and on the forehead to form the hairline. The eyes, nose and mouth are all raised. Around the neck is more tool work and a necklace has been created with a pendent in its center. On her head she is wearing an elaborate headdress that has the serpents\' head at the top center. There is so much more to this piece, including the mystery of what it was actually created for. It has no maker marks that I found and there is some patina due to age. It measures 8\" x 5\" x 2.5\".
