Antique Miniature Bisque Jointed Dolls - Boy & Girl - German or Swiss

This sweet pair ofall bisque, jointed dolls are impeccably dressed in their originalmatching outfits.

Their hair is perfectly styled, made ofmohair. Their eyes are glass.

Their features are hand painted. The size is approximately 3 3/4\".

The story of their origin was found in a letter that was stored with the dolls.

A woman named Mrs. Thomas W.Fry of Andover, Massachusetts was the author of the letter.

Mrs. Fry was born in 1868, discovered through research.

She obtainedthe dolls for her friend Emma, whom the letter was sent to.

She estimates that at that time, the dolls were about 70 years old.

She said she believes they were from Switzerland or Alsace, as the letter states.

Alsace Lorraine was a territory that belonged to France or Germany,

depending on the times.

Mrs. Frye says she is 78 years old in the letter. That means it was 1946.

She said she believes the dolls to be 70 years old, which makes them from the 1800\'s.

She did not date her letter with a year, but I am certain of her age.

The information can be found on the internet.

I will include the letter for the next owner of these precious dolls!

They are in excellent condition with no flaws.
