Antique miniature oil on board portrait painting of a lovely lady, circa 18th century is beautifully done in sepia colors with much detail. The young woman has a demure smile and wears her hair swept up. She is dressed in an exaggerated, tall lace collar in the period dress. I could find no signature. The painting is in a wooden gold gilt oval frame expertly hand carved with beading and dimensional detail in a deep, shadow box style frame. It is exquisite and has a hanger attached, ready for display. The painting is good with staining revealed with the enhanced photography. I have not attempted to clean. The frame has a couple of small chips and cracks consistent with age. It measures 4.25 by 3.125 inches. This lovely antique painting is the perfect size for personal gift giving and to add to a fine miniature portrait collection. It would be beautiful displayed in any home décor.
