Up for offers is this stunning antique handcrafted Arts and Crafts copper vessel. I have been told it\'s an inkwell, but I am not certain it isn\'t just a covered container. The inside bottom is rounded and I do not see any marks where a glass insert would have been. You be the judge.
It measures 2 3/8 inches tall and the lid is 2 5/8 inches in diameter. The patina is superb. It is unmarked. You can see faint swirls in the copper from working it. There is a small area on the interior of the lid where a small amount of secondary metal, solder perhaps, or copper impurity has rusted. It\'s evident in the photos and should clean up easily. Picture six has a small light area that is reflection, not patina loss. I have done nothing to this piece other than dust it. The shape and craftsmanship are very fine. There are no cracks.
