Up for offer is an early Nelson McCoy Yellow Ware pitcher. This primitive stoneware pitcher is done in a rich green glaze and weighs a hefty 3 pounds 7 ounces. The jug measures 7.75\" tall and the base is 4.25\" round. This pitcher is primitive with a heavy applied handle, glaze pops and \"whittled\" base ring. I do not know why the base ring is whittled or why there appears to be intentional scraping in the center of the base. (Please, if anyone has information about this please let me know.) There are no chips or cracks, just the age appropriate crazing.
