Main Description
A fine and impressive antique George III Newcastle sterling silver baluster pint mug made by John Langlands I & John Robertson I; an addition to our range of diverse Georgian Newcastle silverware.
This fine antique George III sterling silver pint mug has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular domed spreading foot.
The surface of the Georgian silver pint mug is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials \'WT from WTS\'.
The foot and flared upper rim of the body are encircled with bands of tooled decoration.
The sterling silver mug is fitted with an impressive S scroll handle incorporating a plain thumbpiece; the handle is struck with the maker’s mark as to be expected.
This impressive pint mug was crafted by the renowned Newcastle silversmiths John Langlands I & John Robertson I.
Condition
This antique Georgian silver pint mug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the Georgian silver pint mug and part hallmarks to the handle are all very clear; the maker’s mark to the handle shows signs of wear in keeping with age and location, but remains legible.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
