This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE LOCKET PENDANT that was made in the ART NOUVEAU STYLE during the 1920s. It is made from 18K YELLOW GOLD and the back is dated 21.8.29 (Aug., 21, 1929) and is engraved with the initials JAG. The locket displays A RELIEF OF SEVERAL ITEMS REPRESENTING THE ROMAN GOD MERCURY. Mercury is the patron god of financial gain, commerce, eloquence, communication, divination, travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery and thieves. He is also the guide of souls to the underworld. The lower center is bezel-set with 1 OLD MINE CUT DIAMOND of J color, SI clarity that weighs approx. .25 ct. This diamond measures approx. 4 mm in diameter and it is 1.96 mm deep. The locket slides to the right to open and it has a larger size bale that can accommodate up to a 4 mm chain. The locket measures 1-9/16” long, including the bale, by 1-3/16” at the widest point. The total weight is a solid feeling 13.9 grams. FINE QUALITY & CONDITION...A RARE, ONE OF A KIND LOCKET!
