Antique Original Chinese 10 Dragon Silk Robe - Opera Theater Costume :

A most beautiful and historic silkChinese Dragon Robe. This antique robe or coat was probably used in theaters or opera houses of China during 1800\'s. These style robes were used as costumes during productions. The robe has figures of ten dragons with other embroidered designs. The embroidery is outlined with a gold metallic couching. The bottom of the robe is symbolic of a body of water with waves as does the ends of each sleeve. The robe\'s primary color is ivory with shades of blue, green and burgundy.
International customers please contact.The robe measures about 55\" from top to bottom and is 34\" wide at the bottom. From sleeve to sleeve the robe is an impressive 81\". The silk is on an ivory color linen fabric. The condition is good for an antique textile that was used for many years. There are several old repairs and patches to the silk. There are several worn areas, but the piece is still strong and useable. We have not attempted to clean the fabric and there is soiling.
