were tiny compared to todays modern populations.When this tapestry was made Aviation was in it\'s youth and over 40 contestants competed for a 25,000 (around 340,000 in todays money)
all they had to do was be the first person to fly across
the Atlantic Ocean from Paris to New York in 1927Charles Nungesser and Francois Coli vanished mid-flight, Richard Byrd crashed before it even began, Charles Lindbergh won the Orteig Prize making the historic flight in his single engine plane
nicknamed \"The Spirit of St. Louis\" Chamberlin was the second man to make the crossing and also in 1927 Actress/Aviator Ruth Elder took off from New York in the airplane \"American Girl\", with her co-pilot, George Haldeman, becoming the first woman to duplicate Charles Lindbergh\'s transatlantic flight to Paris.This Tapestry is from the correct period, circa 1928,
