You are offerding on an antique Ottoman yataghan Turkish or Greek origin, It is a very nice example dated 1213 Hijri meaning 1799 Gregorian calendar. The blade has extensive true silver inlay on both sides. One side is decorative but the other has a lot of script, I wish I would know the translation. The sword is 26 inches from which the blade is 21 inches. Very nice large ears hilt made of buffalo horn and brass . The brass decorations on the handle seems to depict classical Greek images. There are some repair made later to the silver sheet extending from the hilt to the blade and they are visible at a close up, see pictures bellow. The scabbard was made later but looks ok and is in good condition. Very nice unusual yataghan. Some silver inlay prtions are missing. Scroll down to see all the pictures.
