I found this beautiful pair of solifleur vases in the east of France, I was told they were made by Moser Art Glass founded in Austria in 1857.
Moser perfected many \"cold-working\" techniques from carving, engraving and gilding (which is this set), and painting. Moser produced glassware for Monarchs, Maharajahs and Popes!
They were very popular in the late Victorian era, 1880\'s-1910.
It is very rare to find a matching pair!
These were covered in gold and then engraved with flowers and leaves.
It is really quite stunning when you look through them into the sunlight and you see the pattern!
Solifleur means \"single flower\" and were often set next to the photo of the one you love.
These measure 6 inches tall. The mouth opening is .75 of an inch and the bottom is almost 2.25 inches wide.
Both are in beautiful condition with some gold loss to the rings around the top which is normal for age and use.
These will be beautiful in any room in your home!
