This is a pair of Japanese porcelain shi shi or foo dogs.They are 5 ¼ inches tall and 5 inches long. They are unmarked but we believethey were made in the Kutani area. They have vibrant colors with turquoise,aubergine and iron red. They are very good quality and heavily potted. Webelieve they date to the early 20thcentury. They are in verygood condition. The only issue is some glaze has flaked off on the tip of thetail.
