This is one of a dozen lots of antique paper dolls that I will be listing this week. They are all from the same estate and are original to the family. Please note condition from photos and ask questions if you are unsure.
AUTHENTIC fresh from a grand estate in Philadelphia, these are Antique Paper Doll(s) and dresses. I believe most of them are Hand Made Hand Painted.
Most dolls are accorded identities and their wardrobes labeled in pencil on the back. Of interest is that the names of the paper dolls and accorded families match up to some of the most prominent members of Philadelphia society. A beautiful commentary on early high society Philadelphia fashions.
In Pre-Owned Antique Used Condition..played with by a little girl or little girls - they all have pencil handwriting on back, some staining with creases to the necks & creases to the ankles. Some have glue residue. Some light staining & water color marks on the back~ some have loss of color in places. Minor tears. No strong odors, but have been packed away for years~. Some are written on with typical signs of use & age
