This is a 22 inch Antique Papier Mache German Doll with molded blond hair and her original dress 22 Inch. She is an estate find and is as-found. She appears to be unmarked. The original clothing is not removable as it is stitched to her. This lovely blond lady is very beautiful, but she does have a tight crack to the right side of her face. Also her nose and mouth are practically worn of paint. And there is paint crazing as you would expect to the shoulder head.. There is very little wear to her molded blond curls. There is no repainting. Her cotton stuffed cloth body is mostly covered by costuming but she has dark leather lower arms, wide hips seam jointed so she can sit, long legs seam jointed at the knee and red and white striped cotton legs with red cotton feet/boots with a cotton thread tassel. I do not know if the body is original but it seems so. Her wool challis, lace and silk satin gown appears to be her original. The green silk satin is in poor condition to the lower half of the front with much disintegration and loss. The wool challis has some holes here and there. The entire dress is hand stitched and the hem is bound with green tape the way fashions were stitched in the 1870’s. The neckline and waist are trimmed with pearl type glass beads and red branch coral all hand stitched to the dress. She is also wearing two antique white petticoats and pantaloons.
