A nice early Victorian snuff box or small table Tobacco box with detailed lace-like, typicallyVictorian designs embossedon the lid and the bottom of the box. I have heard that this design was associated with the American Civil War. This type had often been seen with a name and military inscription. The Urn with Flowers and Two Eagles are suggestiveof a memorial theme.
It is in very good to excellent condition. There are only a few dark spots, but they blend in with the complexities of the design. The inside is very clean and the hinge works well.
Length - Just under 3 and 1/4 inches. Width - 1 and 7/8 inch.
