Antique French shelf or mantel clock with porcelain case with courting scene, castle, floral motif, and gold paintmovement is stamped with the Japy Freres & Cie. Med. D\'Honneur mark; it\'s circa 1880s.
measures just over 13.75\"h; just shy of 8.5\" width at the widest point; case is about 4.5\" depth at deepest point (dollar bill shown in image for size comparison only)
it strikes down the hour at the top of the hour and strikes once on the half hour.
Imperfect, antique, pre-owned, used condition - the clock runs and strikes when wound - you may need a shim under one of the feet to keep it level. We have not had it cleaned or serviced. There is crazing throughout the porcelain case, and there is a repair to the front right leg (pictured - please see photos). There is some wear and loss to the gold paint and possibly some touch up to the gold paint on the sides. There is a hairline on the back of the case, to theleftof the door. A little discoloration to the dial. A key will be included.
