Wonderful antique pine baby cradle which I believe could be 18th C hasold brown paint and beautiful smoothpatina from200 plus years of use. Cradle has a scallop design on edges up by head and two shaped hand holds, single board bottom, early nailsand angled dovetailing. Cradle measures 37 1/2\" long x 23\" wide at rockers, 18\" wide at top and 19\" tall. Does have very old repair on head board,single board bottom has split from age, one rocker slightly loose, both rockers have been built up slightly, possibly from being worn down on bottom from use? (see photos), rockers on one side appear to have their decorative shaped top parts broken off, not sure if this was intentional for rocking with the mother\'s foot as they are symmetrical.
