This listing is for an antique original M. Price bone corkscrew with a medallion. Michael Price was the famous maker of BOWIE KNIVES during the California Gold Rush. The corkscrew perpendicular handle has a medallion of a classical helmeted male figure. This is a very rare special piece that was made by Michael Price between 1856-1889.The corkscrew approximately measures 5\" from the top of the handle to the bottom of the metallic helix. The handle is approximately 3.6\" long. \"M. PRICE SAN FRANCISCO\" is stamp on the back metal part of the handle or the reverse side of the medallion. The metal portion of the handle appears to be silver plate, but it is not marked silver plate. There are blemishes and age cracks in the bone handle.There is lost of silver plate,scratches, and etc. on the silverplate portion of the handle. Please look at all photos. This item is sold as is.
