Antique ROYCROFT POTTERY stoneware jug From AURORA, NY. Cocoa brown coloring. Very good to excellent condition and clean.
Measures 5 1/4 inches high by 4 1/4 inches wide. ROYCROFT crest NY embossed on the bottom. Removable cork with heavy age wear.
No cracks, chips, gouges or stains. I find typical manufacturing flaws such as; raised and recessed pits, waves and dimples, over and under glazed areas, cutlines and color variations. There are not excessive original firing flaws on this piece.
At the bottom ridge (under the handle) there is an unglazed circle that looks like a chip. It is not a chip. It is a round and smooth area with no glaze.
This lovely and unique jug is clean, bright and ready for service and display.
