ANTIQUER.S. PRUSSIA BOWL
WITH ROSE DECORATION

Up for sale is a beautiful antiqueR.S. Prussia serving bowl made by the Reinhold Schlegelmilch Porcelain Factory in Suhl, Germany (then the Germanic state of Prussia). I\'ve been unable to determine the exact mold number, as it doesn\'t appear in the book \"Collector\'s Encyclopedia of R.S Prussia: Second Series\" by Mary Frank Gaston. This shape appears to be quite scarce, as I haven\'t been able to find any other bowls of this exact form pictured online. The bowl isbeautifully decorated with pink, peach, and white roses. The inside of the bowl has molded rays in the bottom portion. The scalloped edge is trimmed in gold with roses decorating each of the smaller 3-pronged scallops. The edge also has a line of raised beads.

This master-size serving bowl measures about 10 1/4\" wide and 2 3/4\" tall. The undersideof the baseis marked with thered and green wreath markusedbyReinhold Schlegelmilch from about 1870 to 1918. I purchased this elegant bowl at a recent estate sale.It\'s fully guaranteed to be genuine antique R.S. Prussia porcelain and NOTa cheap reproduction.Condition of this antique R.S. Prussia bowl is GOOD. I felt a single pin-head size rough spot on the outer edge. There are no other chips or fleabites. I noticed a very faint hairline in the glaze on the reverse side that is nearly invisible on the painted side. The gold trim shows wear, as does the pink flowers on the highest ridge of the 3-pronged scallops. Overall, this elegant R.S Prussia bowl looks very nice and displays well. It would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I\'ve provided and judge condition for yourself. I\'m confident you\'ll be very pleased with this purchase.
