Antique Rare 13 Inch German Porcelain Two-Faced Doll Ages of Women Old and Young commonly known as Youth and Old Age.These dolls are so cool! This is an antique German porcelain china head doll that you can actually say that it is a good thing to be \"two-faced\".No damage or repair to the head. The body is a cloth body and the arms and legs are antique with the feet being the earlier \"flat feet\".She is a porcelain shoulder-head with two different faces - one young and one old and they are separated by a black sculpted bonnet. The old face has pronounced age lines, painted blue eyes, and closed mouth with smiling expression. The young side features the same blue painted eyes, smiling mouth, and rosy cheeks. She is wearing an antique costume with two front sides so you can display the doll with either side forward.
The Old Woman side shows a woman with wrinkles, an old apron and a checked dress.
The Youth side shows a young girl, with cross stitching on the bottom of the dress, nice rosy cheeks and beautiful face.
These heads are usually attributed to A.W.Fr.Kister, Germany.
