Chinoiserie lacquer tea caddy , reflecting Chinese artistic influences, it has fanciful imagery of an imaginary China, asymmetric in format and whimsical contrasts of scale. The interior is fitted with two removable paktung covered and engraved pewter canisters with bone handle lids, resting on carved lion\'s head gilt wood feet.
Made by A. Giroux & Cie Paris France label inside. Outside Label Has Publix Exposition Painting Papers Encadrem.
Condition, A few lacquer chips to the edges on bottom off, but no crazing. The gold painting on the box in good condition with pictures very clear. Fabulous antique early1880\'s era Chinoiseriemade in France. Magnificent collectors box.
