The mark on the base is Genoa.
It measures 24 cm diameter and 5cm high.
Condition: It has survived the centuries in good display condition. There are various edge and glaze chips as expected on tin glaze pottery and there is some discolourment.More information : Savona faience (tin glazed earthenware) was produced in the 17C and 18C at Savona, Liguria, Genoa and Albissola, Italy. Most early pieces are decorated in blue on a white ground, the subjects usually being landscapes, ships animals, birds and people. The painting is usually sketchy with visible brush strokes.
