We offer for sale here, a beautiful, framed, Royal Vienna portrait plate of \"Chloe\". It is signed by the artist toward the bottom near the edge, but it is hard to read. Maybe (Mairz)..? In any case, it if finely painted with lots of detail throughout.
These Vienna plates were made around the 1890-1910 era, and are highly collectible. This one has a border around the perimeter that has raised gold decoration that is all original. On the back, it is marked under the glaze with the famous bee hive, and the word Germany. It also says \"Chloe\".
It is mounted in a lovely gilt frame, lined with felt to make the plate look more pronounced. It is very impressive hanging on the wall as it is quite large. The plate itself is the typical 9.5\" round. Framed however, the piece is 20.5\" square. The frame is more recent, maybe the last 20 years, but the look is great!
I sold this piece a few months ago, and bought it back from the people, along with
another piece, at their request.
