Description:Antique Russian Imperial Porcelain Factory porcelain plate, from the Golden Service, ST Petersburg, circa 1828. Of circular form, decorated in bands of cobalt blue and light-green with gilt decoration with molded gilt rim, the cavetto painted with a gilt rosette on white ground.
Note:The Golden Service or Coat-of-Arms Service, originally designed by Stepan Pimenov and Andrei Voronikhin, was produced for the Palace of Pavlovsk in 1827, commissioned by Tsar Nicholas I for his mother, Empress Maria 9 3/8″ (23.8 cm).Condition:Light wear to the gilding given its age.
