Up for sale is an Antique “Crystallized Canton Ginger” Hinged Advertising Tin! This hinged advertising tin features great Asian influenced lithography in black, gold and red. The product is marked “Packed for the S.S. Pierce Co. Importers, Boston, Mass.” This is a larger advertising tin which originally contained one half pound of ginger… it measures about 6” wide x 3¾” tall x 1” deep. It is most likely from the early to mid-1900s! As shown in the photos, the tin is in very good condition for its age and displays well with bright colors. There are some small scratches, marks, light rust or oxidation, and dings or dents that you would expect for such an old tin container. The tin opens and closes, and its interior is generally clean as shown. This vintage S.S. Pierce “Crystallized Canton Ginger” advertising tin would make a great addition to your collection!
