Offered here for your consideration is an antiqueSamson Enamel \"Email De Saxe\" style Snuff Box.This style with raised decoration with gilding was first produced in Saxony in the very early 18th century. The subject on the lid depicts a kneeling Chinese fisherman.
The snuff box dates to theearly mid to late 18th 19th 20th century.
It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with an apparently re-attached silver mount. (There appear to be traces of glue in the interior). There is somelight edge wear, fine and light surface scratches here and there, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
The mount bear illegible French silver hallmarks.The interior lid bears an Edme. Samson interlocking factory signature.
