Antique Scottish Cow Horn Whisky Dram Cup 3.5\" Victorian 1850s #5DESCRIPTION: An antiqueScottish whisky dram cup, made fromhighland cattle horn and dating to the Victorian Era, ca 1850 - 1880. It is 3 1/2\" tall, all translucent amber horn with bits of brown.The surface is very lightly polished, the set-in bottom is lathe-turned horn with a fine little bull\'s-eye. CONDITION: This sturdy horn cup is a fine piece for display,an heirloom to be cherished.You could drink from it, but who knows what stable it has lived in for the past 100+ years?It will require rigorous cleaning if you want to drink from it - but use no dishwasher, please!I let water stand in it over night.At this moment it does not leak. Any antique horn cup may develop leaks overtime with disuse. Natural horn may dry out, shrink, and warp a bit. Usually, to keep a horn cup leak-proof, just fill it regularly with water or better yet - with whisky!It will stay in fine condition. It has normal wear for its age.I find no damage of any consequence.
