For sale is a set of 4 remarkable 18th/17th century(possibly earlier) antique hand carved wooden architectural corbels with a carved preening bird design on each. There are remnants of old polychrome paint in them in blues, greens, and black.

We have never seen a better set.

They are possibly Italian in origin. We purchased them as \"Italianate Corbels\" from a Connecticut estate. They may also be Chinese based in the elaborate bird pattern. We are unsure.

They are carved from a hardwood of some type. Not pine. They are dense and heavy for size.

Condition for their age is overall good with age appropriate wear and some wood chips, cracks etc. Most paint is lost to age but some remains. Please see all detailed pictures as they are an important part of our description.

They can be wall mounted as stunning wall shelves either long ways or short(see pictures). You may need to attach hanging hardware to hang to your desired look.

They measure approximately 10 1/2\" x 5 3/4\" except for one which is about an inch shorter.

Outstanding set for an interior design project requiring genuine antique pieces.
