I found a picture of this type of clock on an sale website that indicatedthat this Seth Thomas model is a regulator that was manufactured from 1905 to1915.I have tried to wind it, but the key will not turn.The locking mechanism works smoothly. The key is included in this sale.

As you can see in the photos, there area couple of dings along the front edge, at the very top. Also, three holes havebeen drilled through the bottom section that lays flat against the wall (seephotos).
