Here is an antique French linen sheet.This French antique bed sheet featuresa hand sewn center seam down the length of the sheet. The French antique bed sheet has a tiny 2 letter C H monogram at the far side of the sheet.

This antique French bed sheet iscirca early 1900’s. Antique sheets such as thisone have a hand sewn center seam. as the looms were not wide enough toweave bed size fabric in one piece.

Color: Palebeige. See photo 6. Monogram C H: The hand embroidered letters are C H & aredone in red embroidery thread. The monogram is located on the far side of thesheet.

Antique French Bed sheetcondition:

I would say that the antique French bed sheetcondition is in excellent pre-owned condition.I saw no obviousfaults to the bed sheet. 3 small golden marks (see photos).

It is in \"as foundcondition\" in that I have not washed it and will leave this for the buyerto complete.

The weight of the antique bed sheetis: 3.6pounds, (1635 grams)which is a heavy weight.

The seller said that the sheet isMetis linen which I believe the fiber content is both linen and cotton.I have included close-up of thefibers.French Metisis a woven fabric in which linen is used for the vertical thread and cotton isused for the horizontal thread. It is extremly tough so the sheet willlast years.

At the end of the sheet is a1/2\" machine stitched hem and at the other end is a 1\" machinestitched hem.
