Antique Sigwalt Letterpress / Printing Press - Marked 10-i *very Good Condition For SaleAntique Sigwalt Letterpress / Printing Press - Marked 10-I *Very Good Condition: Up for sale is a fantastic, heavy cast iron Letterpress which I have discovered recently while out on one of my 'picking adventures'. Before I begin with the description, picture number 12 shows (2) antique letterpress models which I discovered this past week. Please note that this sale is for the larger press (red handle / lever) only however the smaller model will also be listed for sale this week so please check out my other listings if you are interested. This press is quite heavy given its smaller size, weighing right at 13 pounds, and it is in very good condition. When I discovered this press it was quite dusty so I've taken the time to clean up the item but I have not added, removed or replaced any of the parts. The press appears to be complete and it is fully functional. When I raise the lever, the single roller rolls off of the ink plate and over the chase very smoothly as the ink table is rotated simultaneously by the operating dog. When I lower the lever, the roller rolls back over the the chase and back then back on top of the ink plate with ease. The chase is removable and it fits very snug in the bed. The outside dimensions of the chase are 4" x 2 1/2" and the wooden block which was found with this item measures (slightly under) 3 1/2" x 2".The cast iron body and attached parts are in excellent condition. The cast iron shows no signs of any rust, deterioration or other damage to it and the paint on this press is in very good condition as well (a couple of small chips but no flaking, peeling or cracking). There are a couple of screws that have light surface rust but this rust is light and it would easily clean away and the single roller has dried out over time and this will need to be replaced. The press is marked 10-I followed by a small hallmark (picture #9) and though I am certainly not an expert in these antique letterpress units, after the research that I have done I believe this to be manufactured by Sigwalt. Please view each photograph carefully as they are an integral part of the description of this letterpress and please use your own judgement as to the maker of this model (if in fact it is not a Sigwalt). In picture #10 you can see some light ink markings on the platen which I've chosen not to clean (this would clean away quite easily) showing that this press was once used but as you can see by the photographs, it was obviously well taken care of. Please know that I will package this letterpress very carefully and securely for safe shipping to the winning buyer and if you have any further questions regarding this model, please do not hesitate to send me a note prior to placing a offer.Total Length: 17 inches (lever in downward position)

1. As a picker, I seek out vintage collectibles that I am especially proud to have found and picked.
I enjoy discovering pieces of history and passing them along to folks who will cherish and
appreciate them as much as I do.
2. I am not a dealer. I go on picks when I have free time to do so. Most of the items that I discover
are found in old barns, attics, and estates where the items have sat untouched for many years. I
will occasionally clean a piece gently and appropriately in order to show the buyer a good
representation of the sale item.
3. I do my best to list and describe each item as accurately as I can. If you have specific questions
or would like to view additional photos, I will be happy to help.
4. I will pack each item with the care and attention that I would expect to receive.
5. Shipping will be timely and as reasonably prices as possible.
6. At this point in time, I do not ship outside of the US.
7. I have many items that I have picked (vintage toys, tools, clocks, watches, advertising pieces
and much, much more). If there is an item that you are looking for, send me a note and I will let you
know if I have it or if I can get it for you.
8. Treat one as you would want to be treated. This lesson taught to me by my mother will be
reflected in each and everyone of my transactions.
9. Semper Fidelis - Always Faithful. Another valuable lesson instilled during my honorable service
with the United States Marine Corps. I promise honesty and integrity in order to make each and
every transaction an enjoyable and positive experience. Thanks for taking a look and please check back often to see my other great finds!
