Antique solid silver, glass, leather & plate hip flask Sheffield 1899:

A 14.5cm high x 8cm wide x 2.5cm deep antique hip flask with a solid silver hallmarked hinged and twist turn top which carries a monogram on the top (see photo). The hallmarks on the side start with the silversmiths marks of \"C.H.H.\" followed by the Crown for the Sheffield assay office, the sterling silver lion passant mark and the date letter of \"g\" for the year 1899. This top is in excellent working order and still has its cork inside.

The body of the flask is hand blown glass with a nice curve to it. The top half is covered in a dark brown leather with slits on either side. The pull-off cup on the bottom half is only silver plated but looks to be original to the flask as it has a perfect secure fit. There is some wear to the silver plate on this and a very small dent and the leather also has a touch of wear which is to be expected for an item of this age. Very tactile.
