Up for sale is a rare, antique Steiff, mohair pig on metal wheels. His mohair has a golden color. He has shoe button eyes, a velvet nose and his original tail. He has a wonderful look-a great pig! This pig was probably made around 1920. When these pigs are in great condition, the can go between $800 and $1200. I am starting this pig at a much lower price.
Condition:This pig is missing quite a bit of its mohair (almost completely gone on one side of his hip). The fabric is in good shape-no holes or tears, and although the ears look nice and match the body in color, they are not original and were added later. One of his ears can be pulled out (see photo) and you can see the sawdust underneath, but the ear sits well in the spot or you could put a straight pin in it. One front paw is open at the base and has some loss to the sawdust stuffing. His wheels are a little crooked and he is leaning slightly forward but you can pull him and he rolls along nicely. The golden color has turned slightly brown over the years.
He comes from a smoke free home and the pig does not have bad odors.
