This piece is in the Bird pattern, made by Moir. This piece is also similiar to pieces made by Tiffany andWhiting.

The top of the ladle has a detailed bird and flower design with a threaded border. The back bears an old, original monogram of the lettersEVV orEOO in a verygothic form. The bowl is very deep.

The back is marked Moir, Sterling and patent.

This is the Bird pattern as seen on the macaroni server on page 138, figure 6.14, in Charles L. Venable\'s book \"Silver in America.\" The Bird pattern is also seen in the pictures of John R. Wendt & Co. patterns on page 115 of Tere Hagan\'s book, \"Sterling Flatware: An Identification and Value Guide.\"

This piece is in excellent condition and the designs are very crisp. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs. Just minor surface scratches comensurate to the age and usage.
