DESCRIPTION:I SELL ONLY WITHIN THE U.S. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING OFFERED.I’m offering today a Vintage Sterling Silver Barley Twist Handle Candle Sniffer. This sterling silver candle sniffer belonged to my husband\'s grandmother. She collected Chippendale furniture and I assume this matched with her collection of candlesticks from this era.She was a wonderful designer and had magnificent style and knowledge of the Chippendale era. After her passing, this sniffer went to her daughter which passed in May of last year. She was 86 when she passed. Her mother has been gone at least 25 years.My husband and I do not have any history other than what I photographed. The candle sniffer has a bell shaped sniffer with barley twist handle which flows down to an \"O\" ring at the end of the handle. I assume this is used for hanging on the wall for easy access. My elderly in-laws used it till we had to take away the candles for fear of burning down the house. The handles is hallmarked: \"STERLING\". As you can see from my gram scales it weighs approximately 18.8 grams of silver. I couldn\'t get the whole candle sniffer on my scales, so could possibly weigh more.If you collect these older sniffers, this would be a great one to add to your collection. I tried cleaning it with silver polish for the photos, but it could use a bit more polishing. I wanted to ensure you were able to read the \"Sterling\" hallmark. I know it was well used over the years because \"Nanny\" loved her antique candlesticks. She was a fine lady which was world traveled and loved all cultures of life.SIZE:This Vintage Sterling Silver candle snuffer measures approximately 10\" long from top of \"O\" ring to bottom of bell sniffer.CONDITION:I would say this vintage candle snuffer is in gently used condition for its age. There is a teeny tiny ding on the bottom side of the bell shape sniffer. It could use additional polishing. There are as many more years of usage as it has already seen.
