Romantic and exquisite locket from the 1910\'s to 1920\'s featuring glowing white enamel surrounded by a wreath of painted pink roses and purple and yellow violets framed in black. The enamel work is set over engine turned sterling silver which is known as French guilloche work. The reverse is monogrammed. The interior has two frames and the original blue grosgrain ribbon insert. There are no celluloid covers. The bail ring is stamped STERLING. This beautiful piece is in very good condition with no chips to the enamel. There are some light surface scratches to the glaze that are only noticed upon magnification. I left the light patina on the sterling but this will polish up nicely if you prefer. It shuts securely and opens with a fingernail slit.It measures just over 1 & 1/4\" not including the bail. It is a large example of this type of locket.
